I’m sad that I missed Cannes this year, but I’ll make time to watch the films that played. Curious to hear your thoughts on the films you best enjoyed at the festival.
I’m excited to share that I will be participating in an Art Walk to raise funds for The Sherry Theater in North Hollywood. Artists James Franco and Jeff Wack will be showcasing their work too, so there’s surely going to be a few some great pieces to explore on Saturday May 18th from 12:00pm – 4:00pm.
There’s some really fun activities planned for this weekend. On Friday night, there will be a 24 Hour Play showcase, along with Spoken Words by talented performers, followed by a party at 11:00pm.
I can’t wait to see what great filmmakers Artisitic Director, Scott Haze has lined up for the 120 Hour Film Festival on Saturday night, following the Art Walk. I’ve participated in a few 48 Hour Film Festivals in the past and it’s always interesting to see how a creative group can create amazing projects in such a short time span.
Sunday is fun-day from 1:00pm – 4:00pm. It’s kids play time, complete with mural painting, a movie screening and fun improv games. There’s also a free improv session at 6:00pm followed by a live music karaoke bash!
Be sure to check out Scott Haze’s performance in James’ new film “As I lay Dying” that will be premiering at the 66th Cannes Film Festival. James Franco wrote and directed the film based on William Faulkner’s story.
If you don’t have anything planned. Come out and discover a great local theater. Who knows, maybe you’ll participate in the next production!
